This festive Pumpkin Fruit Tray made with wedges of clementines, strawberries, green apple, grapes, and blueberries is a fun and cute Halloween platter you can make with the kids!

My kids are fruit lovers. The other day my son was telling me that his P.E. teacher taught him that fruit is natures candy, and I couldn’t agree more!

During the hectic autumn season processed sugary treats are everywhere we look.

I do love a good sweet treat, and just like the next person, I have my favorite Halloween candy. But with all the sweet indulgences during this time, it’s important to bring back a bit of balance.

This fruit tray is just as fun, festive, and sweet as any other Halloween party treat, only this one is healthy, and full of vitamins and nutrients! It’s an easy vegan appetizer you can prepare in no time!

Why you’ll love this Pumpkin Fruit Tray…

  • Vegan and Plant-Based
  • Gluten-Free
  • Easy and simple to pull together
  • Cute and festive platter for your Halloween party
  • Uses healthy unprocessed ingredients

Ingredients You Need

  • Clementines-Peel and separate at least 12 clementines into wedges. You may need more depending on the size of your platter. You’ll use the clementines as the background or head of your pumpkin.
  • Red Grapes-Thoroughly wash the grapes. Separate from the vine, and split the group of grapes into two. You’ll use the grapes as the eyes of your jack-o-lantern.
  • Granny Smith Apple-You’ll need about half of a granny smith apple, cut into wedges. You’ll use this as the stem for your pumpkin.
  • Blueberries-Wash blueberries, and use these for the nose. You can create a circle or triangle shape with them.
  • Strawberries-Halve the strawberries and place into a smile to use as the mouth for your pumpkin.

Tools and Equipment You Need

Large circular platter-I used a round black platter to stay in the orange and black colors for Halloween.

How to Make this Pumpkin Fruit Tray

Step 1: Peel clementines and separate them into wedges. Cover tray completely with wedges.

Step 2: Slice strawberries in half. Arrange into a smile.

Step 3: Place washed blueberries in the center. Arrange into a circle or triangle for the nose.

Step 4: Wash grapes. Arrange into two equal circles to make the eyes.

Step 5: Slice green apple into wedges. Arrange at the top to create the pumpkin stem.

Variations

Orange Face-You can use canned mandarin oranges instead of clementines, or cut oranges into wedges and place peel side up for the face.

Different Fruit-You can use different fruits to make the face. Blackberries make great eyes, nose, and mouth. Kiwi can make for a nice stem.

Fruit Dip-A sweet healthy dairy free yogurt dip would pair well with this fruit tray.

Top Tips for Making the Best Pumpkin Fruit Tray

  • Reserve any extra fruit to refill the tray throughout the night. You’ll have extra apple slices, strawberries, blueberries, and grapes.
  • Prepare and wash fruit ahead of time for quick assembly.
  • Store leftover fruit in air tight containers in the refrigerator for 2-3 days.
  • If you’re having trouble creating the shapes for the nose and eyes, you can use small dipping bowls to fill.
