Hi! I'm Alison!
I help families with different eating styles find peace in the kitchen.
I’m a National Board Certified Health and Wellness Coach (Mayo Clinic), a 200 RYT, wife of a meat-eater, and mom of two. I love chocolate, kale salads, and finding creative ways to encourage my kids and my husband to embrace whole food plant-based recipes at meal time.
Eat food. Not too much. Mostly plants. ~ Michael Pollan
I have been a vegetarian for most of my life, and a plant-based vegan for the last three years. My husband is a hamburger and french fries kind of guy who is unwilling to ditch meat for good. My kids fall somewhere in between. They enjoy lots of veggies and fruit, but they also love eating bacon with daddy, and don’t like “spicy” food. Finding compromise in the kitchen has not been easy. No matter how hard I tried to convince my husband to ditch the meat and come over to the plant-based vegan side, he wasn’t having it.
I was pulling my hair out trying to grocery shop, and prepare three separate meals.
Then my husband came home from his physical with a diagnosis of high blood pressure, and high cholesterol. I convinced him to give plant-based meals a try when he was at home. This would help him lower his cholesterol, blood pressure, and shed weight without going on medications, or completely giving up some of his favorite foods.
I started getting creative in the kitchen finding delicious ways to encourage my meat-eater husband and my picky kids to embrace plant-based meals.
My Goal: Prepare one meal, made with whole food plant-based ingredients, that everyone will eat!
My husband still eats meat, my kids still like bacon, but when we’re home, we’re eating healthy satisfying and delicious plant-based meals that put a smile on all our faces.
