holiday fruit skewers made to look like the grinch with green grapes, banana, strawberry and a marshmallow puff

These adorable and simple holiday fruit skewers are made to look like the famed Grinch!

I mean, who doesn’t love watching The Grinch during the holidays?! It is my youngest son’s favorite holiday movie.

I’ll be driving along, with the little guy in the back seat, and out of nowhere he’ll start talking about the Grinch.

He requests that we watch the movie throughout the year, not just during the Christmas season.

The other day was one such occasion, when my oldest son made a face and said, “Do we have to watch The Grinch AGAIN! It’s not even Christmas yet!”

When I told him that we could make these fruit kabobs as a snack if he’d allow his brother to watch his favorite movie, he very willingly obliged.

These are so easy to make, there’s absolutely no cooking required! There’s not even much cutting or chopping!

Simply wash your fruit, and put the pieces together on a skewer or toothpick, and you’ve got a healthy, fun, festive holiday snack you can make with the kids!

Enjoy them while you watch this classic holiday movie, make them for your holiday party, or take them to your child’s school winter celebration!

Why you’ll love these Grinch Fruit Kabobs…

  • Easy and quick
  • No cooking required
  • A fun activity to do with the kids!
  • A healthy holiday treat or snack!
  • Comes together in minutes.
  • An allergy friendly
  • Vegan friendly (using Dandies Vegan Marshmallows)
  • Whole food plant-based
  • Gluten-Free

Ingredients

  • 10 strawberries
  • 10 large green grapes
  • 1 banana (cut into 10 thin slices)
  • 5 small vegan marshmallows (cut in half)

Tools and Equipment

  • Cutting board
  • Wooden Skewers or toothpicks-I used large wooden skewers to make these, but you could also use a long toothpick, or two toothpicks put together.
  • Colorful Straws (optional)-I decorated my skewers by placing the wooden skewer into red and green striped straws. This isn’t necessary, but does make a cute presentation!

How to Make Grinch Fruit Kabobs – Step by Step

Step 1: Wash the strawberries and grapes. Cut the banana into slices. Cut the tops off of the strawberries. Cut 5 vegan marshmallows in half.

Step 2: Place the grape on the skewer, long way through.

Step 3: Place banana next.

Step 4: Place the strawberry cut side down after the banana.

Step 5: Top with a marshmallow. If you choose, you can put the skewer through a red or green striped straw. Repeat for the rest of the fruit skewers.

Top Tips for Making Grinch Fruit Kabobs

  • Wash all of your fruit and pat dry before assembling.
  • Use long green grapes to look more like a Grinch face.
  • Try to find strawberries that come to a point at the bottom to get the Santa hat look.
  • Pierce the fruit directly through the center with the skewer.
  • If your marshmallows are on the smaller side you won’t need to cut them in half. Mine were the perfect size when cut in half.
  • Put these together just before you’re ready to serve. The bananas will brown if they sit out long.
