This festive and fun Christmas tree veggie tray comes together in minutes. It’s a healthy holiday appetizer or snack that will make everyone smile and gather together! With assorted green vegetables, grape tomatoes, dill, and starfruit, it’s beautifully delicious!

Last year I was going to my family holiday party with all of my aunts, uncles, and cousins. It’s always one of my favorite gatherings of the year.
Everyone wears their Christmas sweaters, there’s holiday music playing in the background, and it’s just the perfect time to catch up!
My mom’s side of the family is Armenian, so we enjoy all of our favorite dishes. I make the vegetarian grape leaves and spinach pies because those were my mom’s signature dishes, and since she’s passed away, they’ve now become my signature dishes.
I have to admit, they’re not the healthiest recipes, but oh boy, they do put a smile on all of my relatives faces who only get to enjoy them once a year when I bring them to our holiday party.
My Aunt Alice is known for her cheese tray, my Aunt Kathy is known for her cheesecake, and cousins Tara and Jeff always bring the cheese boureg, and manti.
Since cheese is not in my diet anymore, I thought it would be nice to bring a veggie tray to snack on to balance out all of the other heavy recipes.
Let me tell you, this was a hit! Maybe even more so than my Aunt Alice’s cheese and crackers!
It just looks so fun, festive and inviting. It’s the perfect appetizer for your holiday party! If you’re looking for a fruit tray, check out my Christmas Fruit Platter!

Ingredients

- Slice the English cucumber into thin rounds. This will create two rows for the tree.
- Cut your green pepper into medium size and small sticks. The small sticks will be used at the top of the tree.
- Wash and cut the ends off of the sugar snap peas. You’ll arrange these in two rows to make the green of the tree.
- A few sprigs of dill add a little bit of a piney look to the tree.
- Grape tomatoes, make for beautiful red ornaments.
- Starfruit slices act as the tree topper. Cut a large section of the starfruit for the top of the tree, and a few slices near the end of the starfruit to add as ornaments.
- Pretzel Sticks will act as the trunk of the tree.
Tools and Equipments
You’ll need a cutting board or holiday serving tray to arrange your veggies and serve. I like using a wood cutting board, but a holiday tray would work well too.
How to Make a Christmas Tree Veggie Tray – Step by Step
Step 1: Prepare your vegetables. Wash all of your vegetables. Slice the cucumber into thin rounds. Cut the green pepper into medium and small sticks. Cut the ends off of the snap peas. Slice the starfruit (you won’t use the entire starfruit).

Step 2: Arrange the vegetables in rows starting with the cucumber slices, then the medium green pepper sticks, and the snap peas, repeat. Each row will be slightly more narrow than the one before. Arrange the small green peppers at the top to create a point.

Step 3: Arrange a few grape tomatoes around the tree. Place one slice of the starfruit on the top of the tree, and a few smaller slices around the tree. Add a few sprigs of dill around the edges.

Step 4: Place pretzels sticks on the bottom center underneath the cucumber slices. Serve with a side of hummus or veggie dip, and enjoy!

Top Tips for Making the Best Christmas Tree Veggie Tray
- Purchase your veggies fresh. It’s best to get your veggies the day before or the day you’re ready to prepare your veggie tray so that they are at the peak of freshness before serving.
- Cut veggies a few hours or just before ready to serve.
- Cut the green pepper into two different even sizes. I found it easiest to slice the ends off of the green pepper where it starts to curve. This way you get even sticks that lay flat. Then cut the rest of your green peppers into smaller sticks to make the top of the tree.
- You won’t use the entire starfruit. Cut one slice near the center for the top of the tree, and a few slices near the end or bottom to achieve smaller stars for the middle of the tree.
- I used grape tomatoes for the ornaments, but it would be even better with rounder cherry tomatoes to achieve the ornament look.
How to Serve
Serve with gluten free hummus or vegan tzatziki to dip the veggies in. You can also enjoy these veggies fresh without any dip, or use a store bought dip of your choice.
How to Store and Keep
You can make this veggie tray the night before, or a few hours in advance. I recommend covering it in plastic wrap and storing in the refrigerator until ready to serve. The veggie tray is best enjoyed within 1-2 days of assembling it, but it will last as long is 3-4 days depending on the freshness of the vegetables your purchase.

So pretty. I want to make it. I have a huge rosemary bush so I will use sprigs of that instead of buying dill. Tomatos and cukes wer already on my grocery list so just added the other veggies to list.
