I’m not going to lie. Desserts are my favorite recipes to prepare, share, and eat! I’m a sucker for chocolate, but I love fruity tarts, cakes, and puddings too. Creating delicious easy vegan plant-based dessert recipes is not as hard as you might think.
When it comes to creating vegan desserts I take a close look at the ingredients keeping them as close to whole food plant-based as possible. That means reducing or eliminating refined sugars, refined flours, and refined oils.

When scouring for the easiest vegan dessert recipes, I not only wanted to find ones that were simple to make but that were healthy too. These desserts fit the bill!
- Healthy Natural Ingredients-These recipes include healthy natural ingredients.
- Limited to No Oil-Most of these recipes do not contain any oil at all. A few of them contain coconut oil in small amounts.
- Refined Sugar Free-These desserts are all refined sugar free. Instead using natural plant-based sweeteners such as maple syrup, dates, or coconut sugar.
- No Refined Flours-These recipes do not contain refined white flours. Instead using almond flour, whole wheat flour, or gluten-free flour blend.

If you’re looking to create a dessert that is not only vegan but also whole food plant-based you’ll need to avoid the following.
- Refined Oils-This included olive oil, vegetable oil, canola oil, coconut oil, sunflower oil, etc.
- Refined Flours-All purpose white flour, and white rice flour.
- Refined or Artificial Sugars-Brown sugar, white sugar, organic brown or white sugar.
