These store bought plant based snacks are easy, convenient, and healthy. They’ll keep you energized and satisfied between meals.

Need plant based snacks you don’t have to make yourself?
Don’t we all!
I’m one of those people who loves to cook. Hence the reason for this blog. However, sometimes I’m just too tired to whip up a snack when I’m already feeding the family breakfast, lunch and dinner!
Finding store bought plant based snacks can be a challenge when you’re following a WFPB Diet. When I first became plant based I spent hours in the grocery store studying the labels on packaged foods.
What I found was that most packaged foods were not whole food plant based compliant. This left me feeling overwhelmed. I worried that I would need to make everything from scratch!
There were days when I just wanted to quit this lifestyle because it felt too difficult.
With a full time job, and a family, getting dinner on the table was hard enough without making daily homemade snacks that disappeared in minutes.
I needed snacks that were fast, convenient, healthy, and whole food plant based compliant. That meant no refined flours, sugars, oils, dairy, or processed ingredients of any kind.
With years of practice under my belt, and hours spent combing through the small print of packaged box foods, these are my favorite store bought plant based snacks!
My kids and husband (who are not plant based) love them too!
What snacks can you eat on a plant based diet?
These are my basic go-to snacks you can eat on a plant-based diet.
Fruits -Any fresh fruit and vegetable is an easy grab and go snack. In our house we always have an overflowing fruit bowl with apples, bananas, oranges, and whatever else is in season. My kids know they can grab anything they want from the fruit bowl all day long.
Fresh Veggies-Carrot sticks, celery, bell peppers, cucumber, and cherry tomatoes are always in the fridge. All you need to do is slice them up and you’ve got a fresh healthy snack.
Dips-If you’re anything like me then you’re veggies need a little something to dip them into. I frequently dip my veggies in hummus, or this vegan tahini sauce. Guacamole is another great dip.
Avocado Toast-A super simple and quick snack is one of my favorites. Toast whole grain bread, and top with sliced avocado. Sprinkle with Everything Bagel Seasoning, and you can’t go wrong!
Raw Nuts-When snacking on nuts keep a watch on quantity. While nuts are very healthy, they are high in fat and calories. Look for nuts that are raw and keep your serving to ¼ cup. You can also enjoy nut natural nut butters. Just look to make sure they don’t have added palm oil, or sugar.
Sugar Free Dried Fruits-My kids love dried fruit, and so do I. The key is to find dried fruit with no added sugar or oil. These are my favorite dried cranberries that I use in cookies and as a snack.
These are just some of the easy snacks you can eat on a plant based diet. But there are many more simple store bought snacks to keep things interesting.

Is popcorn allowed on a plant based diet?
A common question I get, is whether or not popcorn is allowed on a plant based diet.
Thankfully I can tell you YES POPCORN IS ALLOWED! It’s one of my favorite things on Earth!
However, it’s a bit of a tricky snack if you want to be whole food plant-based compliant. Most store bought popcorn is made with oil. Microwave popcorn is not allowed as it’s full of artificial flavoring.
To make your own plant based popcorn, use an air popper and corn kernels. Then sprinkle with your favorite topping. No butter, obviously, but here are some of my favorites…
