Why You’ll Love Air Fryer Frozen Spring Rolls
- Healthier: Air frying the spring rolls makes them crispy without deep frying.
- Crispy Outside and Tender Inside: The air fryer’s circulating air creates a crispy, golden exterior and tender, flavorful interior.
- Easy Cleanup: Air frying eliminates the spattery mess of deep-frying or pan-frying.
- Versatile: These spring rolls can be served as appetizers or part of a larger dinner with delicious dipping sauces like sweet chili sauce, peanut sauce, or soy sauce.
Ingredients and Notes
- Frozen Spring Rolls: Any frozen spring rolls will work. I like the vegetable spring rolls from Trader Joe’s. But use what you have.
- Oil of Choice: I prefer using a high-heat oil such as avocado. However, I don’t recommend using a cooking spray as it can slowly damage your air fryer basket.
See the recipe card at the end of the post for a full list of ingredients and their exact amounts.

- Spring Rolls: Use your favorite variety of spring rolls. Vegan, vegetarian, and meat options all work. This recipe also works for frozen egg rolls!
- Oil: Any high-heat oil will work well in this recipe. Avocado oil, grapeseed oil, and sesame oil are my favorites.
Types of Air Fryers to Use

- Go Wise 5.8 Qt Air Fryer: A great all-around medium-size air fryer for families.
- Dash Air Fryer: A small compact air fryer that doesn’t take up a lot of cabinet or countertop space. Great for small jobs.
- Ninja Foodi: My new favorite appliance! This does it all! It has an excellent air fryer basket that is a good size for a family, and it also serves as an instant pot and slow cooker!

FAQS
No, you do not need to thaw the spring rolls before air frying them. To get the best results, keep them frozen.
If your air fryer isn’t pre-heated, your spring rolls might need more cooking time. Another problem that can occur is if your spring rolls are too crowded in the basket. Make sure you give them space so the air can circulate and heat them on all sides. Also, be sure to flip the spring rolls halfway through cooking time. All air fryers are different. The bake time will vary depending on your model. Refer to your owner’s manual for the best estimate of time.
The cooking time for spring rolls in the air fryer can vary depending on the spring rolls’ size, the air fryer’s brand and model, and the desired level of crispiness. However, as a general guideline, spring rolls typically take about 8 to 12 minutes to cook in an air fryer at 375-400° Fahrenheit.
Spring rolls are an Asian appetizer consisting of thin flour or rice wrappers filled with various fillings.
Spring rolls use a thin flour or rice wrapper, while egg rolls are made with thicker, crispier wrappers. In addition, spring rolls are typically vegetarian or vegan, while egg rolls often have meat in the filling.
Expert Tips
- Place the spring rolls in a single layer in the air fryer basket to circulate the hot air evenly. Do not stack or overlap.
- Adjust the cooking time as needed. Depending on the size of your spring rolls, you may need to increase or decrease the time. For larger spring rolls, increase the cooking time to 10 minutes. For smaller spring rolls, reduce the time to 6-7 minutes.
- You can use this same method to prepare frozen egg rolls.
Serving Suggestions
Serve with your favorite dipping sauce! You can opt for a red chili sauce for something spicy, a creamy peanut sauce for something mild, soy sauce mixed with garlic for something simple, sweet and sour sauce, or whatever dipping sauce you enjoy!
