What is Splendid Spoon?
Splendid Spoon is a vegan plant-based meal subscription service that ships portioned smoothies, grain bowls, soups, and nutrition shots right to your door! Their food is made fresh. They’re low in sodium, and sugar, and made with 100% whole food plant-based ingredients. Nothing processed! They’re also gluten-free.
What is included in a box?
Depending on the plan you choose you can expect to receive smoothies, grain bowls, noodles, soups, and nutrition shots. A complete plan is meant to have you covered for breakfast, lunch, and dinner. You can pick and choose the smoothies, bowls, and soups that are included in the weekly plan, or you can pick and choose your favorites.
Smoothies
There are 16 smoothie flavors combinations to choose from. Some have a thicker texture than others. I personally prefer the regular textured smoothies to the thicker varieties. My favorite flavors include the Dragon Fruit Berry Smoothie, and the Carrot Ginger Smoothie.
Their smoothies are balanced with protein, fiber, vitamins and nutrients that help you feel full and satisfied. They have no added sugars. They come in an easy grab and go bottle!
Grain Bowls and Soups
The Splendid Spoon meals consist of grain bowls are a balanced combination of gluten-free whole grains, vegetables, and plant-protein. You can easily warm them in the microwave, or heat on the stovetop.
If you take a look at the nutrition information you’ll notice that each package has 2 servings. I, however, usually eat the whole thing! Even if you eat the entire container they are still low in calories and fat. My favorites include the Tuscan White Bean and Tomato Bowl, and the Lemon Wild Rice and Broccoli Bowl.
There are two different types of soups, their light soups which are part of their reset plan, and their regular soups that are heartier and more substantial. The reset soups are more of a broth type soup, while the others could be described more as a stew like consistency.
The light soups are excellent for lunch, and the heartier soups make for a nice dinner.
You can also save your light soups all in one day as your reset to help with your digestive system.
Noodles
The noodle bowls are meant for lunch or dinner. They contain gluten-free noodles, sauces, tons of veggies, and plant-protein. They are well balanced and flavorful.
Wellness Shots
You can also add wellness shots to your plan. When you need a quick dose of nutrients, give one of their four wellness shots a try. They come in 4 varieties: wellness, digestion, detox, and recovery. I find the wellness shots to be quite strong and potent in flavor. I take them between meals. They aren’t meant as a snack, but as a quick dose of nutrients. My favorite is their detox shot!

Splendid Spoon FAQS
I enjoyed all of the smoothies. They are not too sweet, but just sweet enough. They have a nice combination of protein, fresh fruit, and veggies so it feels like I’m getting a complete meal. The grain bowls, soups, and noodles are all delicious. They do not use a ton of salt in their recipes, which is great, but you might find you want to add a touch more salt and pepper to your dishes. The meals are very filling, and flavorful. Since there are a number of soups, grain bowls, and noodles to choose from you can rest assured that you won’t get tired of anything!
The smoothies, soups, grain bowls, and noodles come in one package but are technically 2 servings. One smoothie can be an excellent option for breakfast. Or drink half for a snack. Even if you have the entire container, as I often do, the calorie and fat count is still low enough that you won’t ruin your calorie intake for the day. For example one serving of a smoothie is 80 calories, so the entire smoothie is only 160 calories. One serving of the Minestrone Soup is 90 calories, but that makes the entire container only 180 calories.
Everything is packaged in a recyclable box. It is lined and packed with recyclable insulation and dry ice to keep it cold. Everything is recyclable, and they use BPA-Free plastic. I live on the east coast, and when my box arrived my soups and grain bowls were frozen. My smoothies and shots were not, but they were cold. I placed the smoothies and shots in the refrigerator, along with a few grain bowls and soups, and the rest I placed in the freezer. That way I could take out the meals as I wanted them.
Splendid Spoon and Daily Harvest are similar, but also different. With Daily Harvest you have to blend and make your own smoothie. With Splendid Spoon the smoothies are already made for you. Daily Harvest also has grain bowls, flatbreads, soups, oat bowls, chia bowls, scoops (ice cream), bites (protein balls), and lattes. Unlike Splendid Spoon they do not have wellness shots. They are similar in price. Smoothies are about $8 each, and grain bowls are about $9 each with Daily Harvest.
Splendid Spoon delivers ready to go prepared meals. Purple Carrot is similar to other meal deliver services that send you the recipe, and ingredients, and you prepare the meal yourself. Purple Carrot also uses healthy plant-based ingredients for their recipes. They focus on dinner, while Splendid Spoon offers breakfast, lunch, and dinner.
They do not make any weight loss claims. The purpose of their company is to make healthy eating easier. As a result, if you follow their meal plans, you will likely lose weight as they are low in calories, low in fat, high in fiber, good source of plant-protein, and rich in vitamins and nutrients.
They are not 100% organic. They follow the EWG’s dirty dozen list, and clean 15. What that means is that the foods that have the highest pesticide exposure are organic, while the ones that are not harmful are not.
Final Thoughts and Special Offer
I hope that you found this Splendid Spoon Review helpful. If you have any additional questions about this meal plan, please comment below, and I will be sure to respond quickly.
Having pre-made healthy meals ready to go have been a life saver for me during busy days when I don’t have time to cook, or haven’t been able to get to the grocery store.
They are also super convenient when my family wants to eat a typical American meal, and me (being the only vegan in my house) wants a healthy option that follows my nutrition goals and diet.
The smoothies and meals are perfect for 1-2 people who want something healthy, convenient, and delicious.
It does however, come at a cost, an average of $9.50 a meal. The way I look at it, it’s about the same or less expensive than getting take-out, and much healthier, and more convenient.
I highly recommend giving it a try. It will help you make healthy eating easy! And when it comes to changing your eating habits and meeting your health goals the easier the better, am I right?
I hope you give it a try! Be sure to use my special PROMO for $60 OFF!
