Ingredients and Notes

Frozen Asparagus: Use an 8-ounce package of frozen asparagus.
Garlic: Fresh Minced garlic is the best to use for flavor.
Salt and Pepper: Season to your flavor preference.
Extra Virgin Olive Oil: A bit of olive oil is needed to coat the asparagus and helps it get extra crispy.
Step-by-Step Instructions
Step 1: Preheat the air fryer to 400 F for 5 minutes.
Step 2: While the air fryer is heating, remove the frozen asparagus spears from the package. Add to a mixing bowl. Drizzle with olive oil, and sprinkle the salt and black pepper. Add the minced garlic. Make sure that all of the spears are evenly coated and seasoned.

Step 3: Add the asparagus stalks to your air fryer basket in a single layer. If you have a small air fryer you may need to cook in two batches.

Step 4: Air fry for 10 minutes. Toss at 5 minutes. Depending on your air fryer it may need a few more minutes until it is tender.

Recipe FAQS
Asparagus is a slim vegetable, so it doesn’t need a long cooking time. It shouldn’t need any more than 10 minutes in the air fryer.
Yes, you can cook frozen vegetables in the air fryer. You’ll get a roasted flavor that you can’t get from the stovetop or microwave. Plus, you don’t have to heat up your whole oven! The air fryer acts as a mini roaster and crisps the vegetables on all sides. Just be sure to toss the vegetables halfway through cooking time.
Do not thaw the frozen asparagus prior to adding it to the air fryer. Keeping it frozen allows the asparagus to get nice and crispy, whereas thawing it can produce a soggy texture.
You do not trim frozen asparagus. When it is added to the bag all of the trimming and washing has already been done which saves you time and energy!

How to Serve
Serve warm with a squeeze of fresh lemon juice and sprinkle with regular or vegan parmesan cheese. This side dish pairs nicely with a Creamy Vegan Tomato Soup, Lentil Ragu, or my Chickpea Meatless Meatloaf. You can also add this roasted asparagus to your favorite pasta or rice dishes.
How to Store
If you have leftovers keep them in an airtight container in the refrigerator for up to 3 days. When ready to reheat, place the asparagus back in the air fryer for 3-5 minutes at 400 F to crisp back up.
