Independence Day Fruit Salad

This patriotic Independence Day Fruit Salad is perfect for your festive July 4th celebration! With plum red strawberries, blueberries, watermelon stars, and chopped banana for a pop of white, it's not only delicious and super fun to make, but healthy too!

Ingredients

  • 1 quart strawberries
  • 1 pint blueberries
  • 1 small watermelon
  • 2 bananas
  • 2 tablespoon lime zest
  • 3 tablespoon lime juice

Instructions

  • Hull and slice strawberries into quarters.
  • Wash the blueberries and pat them dry with a paper towel or kitchen towel.
  • Cut your watermelon into thin slices. Using a star cookie cutter, cut 5-10 watermelon stars.
  • Add the strawberries and blueberries to a medium bowl. Add the zest and juice of one lime. Gently fold it all together.
  • Add the watermelon stars, and slice the bananas into thin rounds. Add to the bowl. Serve and enjoy!

Tips for Making Independence Day Fruit Salad
  • Add the sliced banana just before you're ready to serve so the bananas don't brown.
  • Add a drizzle of honey or maple syrup if you want it a bit sweeter.
  • Sprinkle with coconut flakes for another pop of white.
  • Top each serving with coconut whipped cream or a scoop of vegan vanilla ice cream!
  • Will keep refrigerated for up to 3 days.
  • Best served fresh.
